Stonehouse Media designed and built a new FireArson.com website for our longtime client, the International Association of Arson Investigators, to deliver unparalleled member features, single sign-on, training class registration, and certification documentation through engaging design and integration with MemberSuite’s association management software and the IAAI’s CFITrainer.Net online learning platform. The IAAI is the world’s premier organization dedicated to advancing the practice of fire investigation around the world. With over 10,000 members, 60 chapters, four industry-leading professional credentials, hundreds of classes every year, a major yearly training conference, and accreditation for its certifications, the IAAI website must do a lot of heavy lifting for many different constituencies — members, Board of Directors, committees, chapters, volunteers, event attendees, and staff. The most critical technical aspect of the site was to pull off seamless integration with MemberSuite and CFITrainer.Net to deliver information, value, and ease of use to the membership.

Beyond the expected yet extensive informational elements, FireArson.com has true integration, including:
- Single sign-on covering both MemberSuite and CFITrainer.Net.
- A heads-up CFITrainer.Net user dashboard displaying at-a-glance status on completion of IAAI credentials requirements, progress toward earning online training certificates, and direct links to the user’s programs in progress, program completion transcript, and most recent additions to available training.
- Topline member information displayed in-page.
- Training class session details from the association management package displayed in page.
- One-click access to register for training classes, explore industry jobs, and access the member directory.
- Member-exclusive content password-protected via login, including full Fire & Arson Investigator Journal issues and Association governance documents.
- Banner advertising managed through Ad Butler.
Stonehouse’s development approach balanced user needs with the IAAI’s business plan and service to the profession. High impact, engaging visuals pull prospective members in so they can explore membership benefits, training offerings, and certification applications. Existing members log in for one step to access their full membership profile as well as their CFITrainer.Net training record. Anyone — member or not — can register for training classes, register for the yearly International Training Conference, or apply for certifications and designations. Built on the Umbraco platform and extended with custom code for integration and advanced features, FireArson.com has set a new standard for what Associations, particularly at the mid- and growth level, can do to achieve superior usability for Members, administrative ease for staff, and information delivery for prospective members and IAAI credential holders.
